PRAESERVARE

Latin verb: To preserve, protect and safeguard for future generations

The Old Cloverdale Community Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under the requirements specified in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (see IRS Determination Letter below). The Foundation was formed to raise charitable donations enabling it to make grants to institutions and organizations which are stakeholders in the growth, economic development, historical preservation and overall quality of life in the Montgomery, Alabama neighborhood generally referred to as “Cloverdale” or “Old Cloverdale,” and including the adjacent Idlewild, Edgemont and Garden District communities. Our mission is to advance the preservation of culturally significant sites, historic buildings, recreational spaces and community identity. The Foundation believes that the Cloverdale area is the crown jewel of Montgomery and is worthy of strenuous effort to push back against blight, neglect and declining property values being experienced in surrounding neighborhoods. The Foundation believes that financial support of specific capital projects being undertaken by major stakeholder institutions and organizations is the best way to fulfill its community preservation mission.
