L. Rushton Rice
Rush Rice is president of Rice Advisory, LLC, a municipal financial advisory firm headquartered in Cloverdale. In his investment banking and municipal finance career he’s represented cities, counties, school systems, utilities and other public sector clients all over Alabama. He’s been active in municipal and governmental finance since graduating (barely) from the University of Alabama in 1984. He served as president of the Montgomery Country Club from 2022 to 2024 and has lived in and around Cloverdale since 1985.

Dr. Anthony J. Leigh
Anthony Leigh became the 15th President of Huntingdon College on July 1, 2024 after serving as its Senior Vice President and Dean of Students since 2009. As President of Huntingdon, he leads Cloverdale’s most critical anchoring institution. He is dedicated to the safety and well-being of his students, faculty and staff, hence his commitment to the work of the Foundation. Dr. Leigh earned a B.A. from Wofford College, Master of Arts from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and his Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Georgia.

Carol Brewbaker Rickard
Carol Rickard and her family have been prominent members of the Cloverdale Community for generations. A longtime supporter of treasured community organizations, she’s a director of Working Women’s Home Association and Mercy House, and also volunteers at Valiant Cross Academy to name just a few. She’s a lifelong Montgomerian and a graduate of Vanderbilt University.

Mark T. Davis
Mark Davis is a partner in the Montgomery law firm Ball, Ball, Matthews and Novak, where he has been since 1990. He is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the University of Alabama, where he also earned his law degree. He served five years of active duty as a JAG officer in the United States Army and retired from the Army Reserve in 2008 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

William P. Cobb II
Pete Cobb is a partner in the Montgomery office of Balch & Bingham, LLP, one of Alabama’s largest and most prestigious law firms. In addition to his law practice, he is very active as a community and church leader and fundraiser, having served on numerous boards, committees and charitable campaigns. Pete is a 1976 graduate of Auburn University and graduated with honors from the Cumberland School of Law in 1980.

John M. Longshore
John Longshore is a longtime media executive and on-air sports personality in Montgomery. Currently the co-host of the podcast “Longshore & McKnight,” he is also the sports analyst for WAKA TV Action 8 News. He’s not only a graduate of the University of Alabama - - he’s also the only OCCF Director who graduated from Cloverdale Junior High.

Professional Team
The Foundation’s financial advisors are Montgomery-based SageGrowth Wealth Management, which offers investment products and services through Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. SageGrowth co-founder Mark Harris can assist with your charitable planning, and explain tax strategies such as donations of appreciated securities and donor-advised funds.
Troy Bank & Trust is the Foundation’s primary depository institution. Founded in 1906, the bank now has offices across Alabama, including one in Montgomery. There are many things we like about TB&T, including local decision-making and a unique ownership structure that ensures the bank will never be acquired by another bank.
Montgomery-based Jackson Thornton is the Foundation’s accounting firm of record, and will prepare our annual financial statements and our state and federal tax returns. Our primary accountant and advisor is Jeremiah K. “Jeremy” Moreland, a principal in the firm’s Montgomery office, who specializes in accounting/consulting for non-profit organizations.
For legal matters, the Foundation engaged Birmingham-based Maynard Nexsen PC, one of Alabama’s largest and most highly regarded law firms. Maynard shareholder Jim M. Pool, who specializes in Charitable Foundations and Tax-Exempt Organizations, guided us through the complex organizational process that ultimately resulted in the Foundation’s designation as a charitable 501(c)(3). One element of Jim’s engagement is to help us to maintain our activities in strict legal compliance, with the primary objective of preserving our exempt status.
